| Review for: Ancient Age Bourbon |

Pretty Good Bourbon for the Money, Jan 02, 2008
|
|
Over the past few years I have consumed, ( with a little help of guest) about three cases of large bottles.
I usally drink it straight and chase with water, or sometimes I mix the bourbon and water. The store is near home, the bonus for me is that I save enought on gas to pay for a bottle.
Now that a good deal, for a good bourbon. |

| Review for: Gusano Rojo Mezcal |

A cheap and cheerful shooting drink., Dec 07, 2007
|
|
We first tried this in the tequila bar at a hotel in Mexico. It came recommended by the barman as their best shooting drink. We were a little wary at first, what with the gaudy label and the worm floating around in it, but we were pleasantly surprised.
This mezcal has an unusual smokey flavour and is very smooth for a tequila shot. You think it's going to blow your head off, but then it just fades away.
We brought a bottle back with us and it has also been a big hit with our friends. I've tried a lot of shooting tequilas, and I prefer this mezcal to any of them - and it's one of the cheapest too! |

nice for the price, Dec 01, 2007

I discovered this wine a few years ago....and love it! Since then I have been buying it and never been disappointed, the quality stays constant from one year to the other and I stock up when it is on sale or even on clearance....! I feel that the wine is aging pretty well in the box. I like to have a glass of wine with every meal and this is the perfect "vin de table", great with red meat and cheeses. Since it stays fresh for several weeks without refrigeration, I can enjoy one glass without worrying about the leftover turning into vinegar.
I usually pay between 13 and 16 dollars at Kroger in the Houston area.At less than $3 a liter, this is a bargain! |

Whiskey for whiskey haters, Nov 30, 2007
|
|
This is extremely smooth, pleasing, easy-to-drink whiskey. It slips down your throat like liquid butter and leaves a tingling aftertaste of honey, vanilla and a tint of smoke. Absolutely delightful, if a bit short of character. |

$7.50 Manager's Special!!, Nov 29, 2007

The title says it all. This gin's smooth taste and zesty bouquet instantly take one back to a better time where a man could do it all. Somewhere between the delicate herbal aromas and subtle lemon undertones lies the perfect midnight experience. |
