Notmuch to tell. I can hold my liquor better than most, but I can still get drunk. I boast more about drinking than I actually DO drink. I watch a lot of movies and TV, and I read sci-fi books and comics. I also write my own stories. Sometimes, I fire up a cheap-ass stogie, pour myself a glass of beer or whiskey (mixed with an ounce of brown corn syrup for flavor), sit in front of this here computer, and do humorous `Scotty' pics (A mutant pig-man Rob `Darth RobSidious' Hughes made when we were skunked). |

Jeremiah Weed, my last drink of '07, and my 1st of '08., Jan 09, 2008

I made a review last year on this, and that was from a fading memory of how good it tasted. I finally found some at BEVMO on 67th Ave. and Bell in Glendale, AZ. It was a wee bit pricey ($13.99) but holy crap, this stuff rocks! MY GF, who is not a drinker, drank some for New Years, and she liked it, too. 'Course, she calls it `Battery Acid' because of it's strong burn, but I love it.
The reason that, as one of the Colonels (of the 308th FS) at Luke AFB told me, that Luke pilots drink JW is, because years ago, one of the pilots crashed and died. The investigators inspected the wreckage, and did their reports. After the reports, they went to a liquor store nearby, and all that was readily available was Jeremiah Weed. The bottles were bought, and brought to the site, where they drank to their fallen comrade.

It was cheap, and it tasted great, and gave us a hell of a buzz.
'Twas Old Smuggler that strengthened the bond between myself and my best friend Rob Hughes fourteen years ago. 'Twas Old Smuggler that I gave him on the day before his wedding in 1998, not only as a gift, but also to get his soul back after he lost it to me in a Star Trek trivia match.
Basically, it IS a really tasty Scotch and it brings back fond memories.
To Old Smuggler and my best friend, I thank you for making me the weirdo I am today. |

Like my review on Ten High, this review is basically the same. It's good stuff. I'm drinking some even as I type (Gulp! Eeeeeeeee-yarrrbo!!!) (Cracking voiice) smoooooooth.....
Seriously, it costs just $11.99 at Costco in Glendale, AZ, so it's a great bargain, and great for marinating steaks and veggies in.
Pour some of this stuff and some tabasco sauce on a pot roast, and you could practically liquify that meat! :-)

Okay,so it's cheaper than Jack Daniels, but it tastes good to me. I grill steaks in it (2 shots for the steak, 2 for me. 1 for the steak, 3 for me...). It's smoother than Jack Daniels in my opinion. I love JD, but Ten High is more affordable, and just has a good taste to me.
I used to get it for $6.27 at Wal-Mart for a fifth, but they got rid of it, and only sell the larger 1.75 liters.
Ten High should go well with steaks, pasta, and burgers. Perhaps pizza, but not if the pizza is really greasy, becasue of the risk of heartburn.
And it makes an okay mix with fruit drinks and colas, depending on your tastes. A teaspoon of Ten High in a cup of black cut tea tastes excellent IMO.

Though I only tasted it once at the 21st Fighter Squadron `Gamblers' at Luke AFB, I liked it. Although, the captain who allowed me to try it said it tasted bad, I tried it anyway, and I liked it. It was like a cross between Ten High (my fave cheap whiskey) and Southern Comfort; Burny and rough, but smooth and sweet as well. Jeremiah Weed is enjoyed by all of the squadrons, and it a tradition amongst their older pilots. |
