I just recently had the pleasurable experience of trying TGI Friday's Mudslide Mix. I was hesitant to try it, always connecting the word "mudslide" with "heavy coffee flavor", but I was pleasantly surprised to find the coffee and rum flavors to both be subtle and not at all overwhelming. The chocolate comes through stronger, and during these exceedingly hot summer days, I can't think of a better drink to recommend.
I probably wouldn't recommend it to be drank with any heavy foods, seeing as it has a texture rich enough to be the main attraction in a meal, but perhaps with a light desert it would work well. Personally, I find TGI Friday's mudslide to be great all by itself.
Besides just recommending that everyone and their cousin go out and try this, I'd also recommend it to people who don't typically like alcoholic drinks. My friend who introduced me to TGI Friday's Mudslide mix is not particularly fond of alcoholic drinks in general, but this drink managed to win even her heart.
As a side note: Try the drink at different textures, aka: use more ice or less to find what works best for you. I prefer it thick enough to eat with a spoon, but others like it more as a drink.
